SITE-SPECIFIC ADVICE

Providing advice on the architectural and historical significance of listed buildings in connection with applications for planning permission and listed building consent.

50 Hallam Street, Westminster

This building (listed grade II) in the Harley Street Conservation Area, is one of a pair of institutional buildings, with an unusual and sophisticated early 20th century facade of eclectic classical composition. Our report assessed the significance of the building and the potential impact of the proposed conversion into three apartments, which was approved.

St Joseph's College, Mill Hill, London

We produced a report in support of a successful proposal to convert this mid-Victorian grade II listed building into a residential care home. Formerly a college for the first Catholic missionary society in England (St Joseph's Society of the Sacred Heart for Foreign Missions), its significant elements were retained, while 20th century extensions were redeveloped to provide modern accommodation.

Stanley Gardens, Notting Hill, London

We provided advice on the alteration and restoration of a mid 19th-century terrace house, part of an exceptional development that has survived substantially intact externally.

Chandos Street car park site, Leamington Spa

We undertook a historic environment assessment of a central site in Leamington, provided conservation advice on proposals for a mixed-use re-development, and prepared a PPG15 Historic Environment report and a Cultural Heritage chapter for the Environmental Statement to support the planning and listed building applications.
